Vegetable Porridge



Ingredients

  • ½ cup Wheat Daliya/Broken wheat
  • 1 cup mixed chopped vegetables (capsicum, french beans,Onion,Tomato etc)
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)
  • a pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • salt to taste

For the topping

2 tablespoons chopped tomato 2 tablespoons chopped onion 2 teaspoons chopped coriander


Directions

1. take half cup broken wheat
2. Pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles or till it is cooked.
3. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds and asafoetida.
4. When the seeds crackle, add the vegetables and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes.
5. Add the pressure cooked daliya with ½ cups of water and simmer for 7 to 8 minutes.
6. Top with the tomato, onion and coriander.
7. Serve hot .
